UNITY
By Pastor Robbie

All forward progress is marked by unity.  When people get together, for good or bad, to accomplish something, big things happen.

In Genesis 11 God complimented a people for working together, even though their work was not His will.  Building the Tower of Babel was motivated by selfish ambition and was outside of the Lord's plan to fill the entire earth.  Even so, God spoke well of what can happen when people agree to do something.  In Genesis 11:6 we read, The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them."  One tower in one city was not the plan of God, but just imagine what can happen when children of God join together as one to do what God wants done.

Jesus made this point in Matthew 18:19 when he said, "if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."  Miracles happen where there is unity.  I believe with all of my heart that in 2012 many fresh blessings in Christ will rest heavily on the Celebration family as we continue to stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27).

We are one - Unity is a fact.  Every human being is one in original creation and every Christian is one in Christ.  We are all connected!

We are one - Unity is a struggle.  The disjointedness of life strains our experience of oneness.  Unity will stretch us and yet it is a worthwhile struggle.  Lets fight for unity!

We are one - There is power in agreement.  Unity is the seed of forward progress.  United we stand to empower many more people to win in life on the foundation of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

In the early days of this ministry, Bishop Davis led the congregation in a powerful song of benediction every Sunday, We Are One In The Spirit.  Meditate on these words as we enter 2012, and lets make it a prayer that moves us to action.

We are one in the Spirit; we are one in the Lord.

We are one in the Spirit; we are one in the Lord.

And we pray that all unity may one day be restored.

And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love.

Yes, they'll know we are Christians by our love.

We will walk with each other; we will walk hand-in-hand.

We will walk with each other; we will walk hand-in-hand.

And together we'll spread the news that God is in our land.

And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love.

Yes, they'll know we are Christians by our love.

WIN!

Robbie
